My Approach to Helping
Hello! My name is Felicia and I'm a clinical psychologist in Atlanta, GA. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders, OCD, and perfectionism. My approach to therapy is highly compassionate, accepting, and warm, while at the same time very goal- and change-oriented. My goal is to give you the support and skills you need to step outside of your comfort zone, face your fears, reduce anxiety and make and maintain real change in your life. I know that therapy (exposure therapy in particular) can be a challenging process, but I always make space for some joy and levity in sessions, even as we're working through hard things.
I specialize in the use of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Exposure and response prevention (ERP) and integrate elements of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy. I know these names are a mouthful, but what's important to know about these therapies is that they work. These are 'evidence-based treatments' which means that decades of research have shown they can help reduce anxiety over time. As your therapist, my goal is to tailor these therapies to your unique needs and provide you with new skills to reclaim your life.
