My Approach to Helping
Are you struggling with OCD, anxiety, perfectionism or self doubt? Feeling overwhelmed by pressure to be perfect? Or feel like fear and anxiety are keeping you from living the life you want? Well, I want to help. I specialize in the treatment of perfectionism, imposter syndrome and anxiety disorders (including OCD, social anxiety, panic, generalized anxiety, worry and phobias). My approach is highly compassionate, accepting, and warm, while at the same time very goal- and change-oriented. My goal is to give you the support and skills you need to step outside of your comfort zone, face your fears, reduce anxiety and make lasting change in your life.
I received my PhD from Stony Brook University and completed my Clinical Internship and Postdoctoral Fellowship at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School. I have extensive training and experience in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to treat anxiety disorders.
I know these names are a mouthful, but what's important to know is that they work. These are 'evidence-based treatments' which means that decades of research have shown they can help reduce anxiety over time. As your therapist, my goal is to work with you to tailor these therapies to your unique needs and provide you with new skills to reclaim your life!
