We all have rules that consciously or unconsciously guide our thoughts and behaviors. I believe that you possess the insight to determine which rules are working for you (i.e., healthy and aligned with your values) and others that are not working in your favor (i.e., interfering with your own personal happiness and personal relationships). As a therapist, I seek to help clients understand the real and perceived barriers preventing them from achieving their mental health and life goals and develop healthy strategies for overcoming them - in ways that align with their values.

More Info About My Practice

I see clients at Living Well Dallas, a functional and integrative health center where we focus on the causes rather than the symptoms impacting our clients. To learn more about what we do, search "Living Well Dallas" online. To learn more about me and the clients I serve, please visit my website.

My Therapy Focus

Clients usually say "You are easy to talk to, you I listen without judgment. I feel better about myself when I leave a session, having clear steps about what to do next. I feel like I have a partner, like I am not alone." Initially, I establish rapport with clients and take a detailed inventory of what may be troubling them. Together, we prioritize those that are most impacting their emotional well-being and devise a plan and approach that will help them to achieve their goals.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

When selecting the right Counselor or Therapist, it can be helpful to first take stock of your own therapeutic needs. For example, do you think you would resonate more with a therapist whose approach is more: Person-centered (more warmth and reflection) vs. Solution-focused (more goal and action-oriented)? Quiet listener vs. collaborative action planner? Analyst vs. coach - exploring more of the past vs. focusing on the future?

Most therapists will be able to flex and adapt, meeting you where you are on each of the aforementioned criteria. That said, we also come into this profession with our own skills, experiences, and preferences. Initial consultations and thorough review of intake forms are good ways to assess whether a counselor's approach will work for you.
