Imagine feeling better. Imagine laughing with your anxiety; feeling compassion for your grief; seeing wholeness where once you only saw your brokenness. I believe that this is possible. I believe that when you consciously engage emotional suffering you can open a doorway to growth and transformation. When you're in pain this might be hard to imagine. That is because suffering constricts our imagination. But by understanding your symptoms as symptoms of the soul, you invite imagination to help guide you through the symptom, and onto a path of greater self awareness and self love. Approaching therapy this way, we work together to bring light to the places your soul has been wounded, and to build capacities - like courage, compassion, insight, discernment, trust, and hope - that will support the unfolding of your full potential.

Whatever the source of your suffering, you don't have to face it alone. I can serve as a guide and witness to help you through this difficult passage. My approach includes work on several levels: somatic, cognitive, behavioral, and at the levels of the imagination and soul. The first three can help reduce your pain and give you some control and relief. Working at the levels of imagination and soul empowers you in a different way. It helps you learn new ways to approach life's hardships, to make meaning of your suffering, and to follow your soul's path.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is about expanding the possibility of experience; it's about being more alive and vibrant; it's about coming to terms with pain and loss so that you can participate in the beauty and abundance of life. Psychotherapy teaches compassion, for yourself and others. It holds the potential to open you to the existential questions of being, and with these, it can bring you into relationship with the awe and mystery that each of us are part of.

My Role as a Therapist

I act as a guide and a facilitator. Each person travels their own unique path, and yet, having someone by your side who recognizes the signposts and knows the terrain, can be both comforting and helpful as you try to navigate life's many challenges. I see myself standing next to and behind my clients, partnering with them and supporting them on their journey.
