Hi, I'm a psychologist specializing in anxiety treatment for children, teens, college students and adults. I have seen anxiety manifest itself in various ways among different ages and one common thread is that it is very uncomfortable and people need relief. Some common issues I see in children include separation fears, worries about bad weather and monsters, in teens I see worries about academic and sports performance, in college students I see test anxiety and social anxiety, and in adults I see worries about finances and relationships. I can help you learn to understand how your anxiety impacts you and you will learn ways to help you lessen the discomfort by increasing coping skills and making positive changes in your behavior. In treating children and adolescents I think its particularly important to respect privacy and confidentiality while maintaining a balance of parent and family involvement to optimize growth and development. Parent sessions can be an important part of child therapy so that parents can act as coaches at home and help support their child's growth and progress. I believe that therapy can be fun and rewarding as well as challenging, while you seek to make changes and overcome obstacles. The benefits are real and exciting.
