Have you been feeling alone and disconnected from your relationship lately? Does it feel sometimes like talking to a brick wall? This is a common complaint that I hear- individuals who feel unheard, unloved and unappreciated- desperate for some connection from their loved one. You're not alone if you feel like you and your partner are spinning your wheels with the same disagreements and conflicts. As a top-rated couples therapist, I work exclusively with couples dealing with issues resulting from communication breakdown, infidelity, betrayal, trust issues and loss of connection. My clients receive practical and useful tools that can help heal, mend and repair their broken relationships. I help couples strengthen their bond and build a more loving relationship.
Another one of my passions and specialties is helping new parents deal with the transition to parenthood. As a Bringing Baby Home Educator (and mother myself), I feel compelled to work with new parents cope more effectively with the struggles that come after the birth of a child. It's no surprise that the majority of individuals feel dissatisfied in their relationship during that first sensitive year of parenthood. You have less time to connect, lack of sleep takes center stage and you argue about parenting roles and household chores. With a better understanding of how to prepare for what lies ahead, learning new ways of communicating and being able to support each other's needs along the way can make the transition smooth. With the right coaching and support, you can feel happy, connected and ready to embrace the challenges that lie ahead.
Trained in Level I, II, and III Gottman-Method Couples as well as Emotionally-Focused therapy, both research-based approaches have the highest success rate for over 70% of couples who went from distressed to happy. I am also a Bringing Baby Home Educator. My belief is that with the right tool set, couples can achieve relationship satisfaction and build on intimacy and connection.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Choosing a therapist is a very personal experience. It's important to ask any potential therapists about their background and experience, as well as additional training and expertise. If you're looking for couples therapy, make sure you find therapists who specialize in this approach. If you want help with anxiety or depression, you'll want to know if the therapist is trained to work with these specific issues. Additionally, you'll want to make a list of important questions and/or requests you may have about the therapy process and be able to ask them of any potential therapists you're interested in reaching out to. And lastly, once you meet with the therapist, it's imperative that you feel honored, understood, safe and able to discuss your very important and personal topics with the therapist. Most importantly, you should leave feeling like "He or she really got me. They know exactly what I'm going through and can help me."
What Makes up a Problem?
In relationships, problems don't just appear; they are well calculated and develop over time. When you have an unpleasant interaction with your partner and are left with no resolve, each new or recurring circumstance thereafter emerges stronger and more profound, eventually leaving a negative imprint about the entire relationship. Before you know it, you feel alone and dissatisfied, questioning why you ever ended up with this person in the first place. Problems can be nipped in the bud- and can save a whole lot of damage- if caught early enough and repaired effectively. People in relationships all have unhealthy experiences with their loved ones; that's normal. What sets those who rise above apart from the rest is being able to calmly and effectively address them as soon as they come up and be able to mend the damage before it worsens.
