My Approach to Helping

I am a psychologist with many years of experience and an exposure to a broad range of therapeutic approaches. I am an active participant in the therapeutic process and relate easily and informally to clients from diverse backgrounds. I draw upon my extensive experience base to ask the kinds of questions which help clients to quickly identify the basic issues which underlie their emotional problems. I focus on my clients strenghts rather then their weaknesses, and as a result, my clients find me very supportive and affirming as they work through their primary issues,I keep abreast of new developments in the field of psychotherapy and incorporate the best of what I find into my practice. I am trained in both EMDR and DNMS, two exciting new therapies which are proving very effective in treating a variety of emotional problems. My goal as a therapist is to help each client relate to themselves and other people in ways that lead to a happy and fulfilling life. To accomplish this goal, I tailor the techniques and methods I use to meet each client's unique needs.
