My Approach to Helping
I often tell clients, “Your life is your story and you are the author.” Sometimes it seems that life happens to us, and we lose sight of our agency in the story. That’s why I help clients take back control, starting with their mental health. Instead of ignoring their mental health and worrying about everything else in the world, I help my clients get back to themselves and prioritize their own needs. Over the years, I have learned a range of therapeutic tools including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which focuses on addressing your thoughts, and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), which helps you cope with strong emotions. I am not a "one-size-fits-all" therapist. I don’t jump straight in with tactics and start offering solutions without understanding the whole picture- I listen and then act. In therapy, I help my clients learn about their minds and bodies and collaborate with them on practical skills that can support their needs. If you’re longing for a happier and more fulfilling life, we can get you there. The most important thing is to recognize your own needs and figure out how to meet them. But you don’t have to do it alone – I'm here to help.
