My Approach to Helping
What's LOVE got to do with it?? A lot, actually. Relational Psychology starts with the premise that a lot of the stress and suffering in our lives comes when our relationships are out of whack.
You're feeling that stress and seeking out support because life has gotten overwhelming or you've shut down. You're having trouble in relationships, friendships, or at work. You're finding it hard to know how to fix things, and you wonder if the problem is you, your past, or the people in your life. Anxiety or depression maybe peek in here or there and you want real tools to use. You want to feel more confident and fulfilled in relationships, but no one ever taught you that part. You want self-love but don't have a clear vision of who you are.
We work together to create a safe place where you begin to slow down, noticing your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and desires. As this awareness begins, healing can take place. Self-acceptance comes to the forefront as we discover what makes you unique. As we learn new communication tools, relationships become more satisfying and life takes on new ease.
All of this work is done through building a positive, caring therapeutic relationship, which is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive. I got into this work because I believe healing is possible and everyone deserves to have the tools to find and stay in love-we all crave it and science shows we need it! Therapy is a mix of processing and action, learning and unlearning, laughter and tears. Reach out and let's work together.
