My Approach to Helping
I am a process therapist; this means that I do not focus on changing you (or your partner). Instead, my focus is to help you deeply connect with yourself and change patterns.
In individual therapy this looks like integrating new awareness around and working towards changing the patterns in your life that block your connection with your inherently valuable and worthy self.
In couples counseling we focus on changing the patterns in your relationship that interfere with receiving the message of understanding, love, and security from your partner that you wish for.
Through an EFT perspective, in both individual and couples counseling, I aim to create an environment in each session where safe, secure, open communication and connection can be fostered. And as an EFT based therapist, my work is highly relational. It is not only important for me to listen to you, but also that I interact with you and your emotions throughout each session.
Together we will pay close attention to the invaluable information that your emotions, attachments, and traumas provide. We will also focus on exploring and integrating awareness that is build surrounding the patterns of your life. Sometimes we will also talk about unconscious or subconscious blocks to awareness or ability to make change in your life.
More Info About My Practice
A main part of my practice is working with couples.
Of course, you wish to be genuinely and compassionately heard, seen, and supported by your partner, but sharing your life with another person has had its way of bringing unique roadblocks to your relationship.
In couples counseling you and your partner will learn to identify, understand, and rebuild the road that leads towards a peaceful and fulfilling connection.
