My Approach to Helping

Helping people build the life and relationships they desire is my passion. You may be feeling worried and unable to focus at work or home. Maybe there seems to be a dark cloud within that you just can't shake. Maybe you are experiencing a lot of arguing in your relationship or marriage. All of these concerns can affect your mental well-being and cause anxiety, depression, or stress. Throughout our time together, I will provide a safe space to talk about any concern and explore ways to move past issues to a brighter, happier future. If you are struggling with motivation, energy, desire, or conflict you may just need to talk to caring individual who will listen and help by providing strategies and tools in every session.

I see clients that are struggling with their relationships whether it is due to communication challenges with their partner or overcoming and an infidelity. I also see people who are struggling after a divorce or breakup and just feel stuck! They don't know how to move forward. I can help!

I see many clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, parenthood, and career concerns. I know how difficult it can feel to get up each day with the heaviness of these concerns. It feels as if your feet are cemented to the ground and you just can't move one way or the other. Together will find ways to get you moving.

My approach is one of care, compassion, and collaboration. It is non-judgemental, tailored to your specific needs, and plays to your strengths. My practise is ever evolving and changing based on new evidence based research to provide the best care.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

When you are spinning around and around and don't know how to get off the merry-go-round a trained therapist can help. Its hard to ask a family member or friends to listen empathetically and non-judgmentally to your concerns. These thoughts can continue to spiral when there is no one you can talk with who will understand. Psychotherapy provides an opportunity to discuss any and all concerns free of worry and learn new tools to combat the irrational thoughts causing the spinning.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

The ability to help others find and fulfill their dreams. I became interested in human behavior after taking several psychology courses my senior year of high school. I went into the business world and spent 23 years in corporate America. I watched couples struggling balancing careers, family, and relationships. I experienced first hand the hardships of being downsized, twice in one year, due to a poor economy. In 2013, I decided to follow my passion and become a professional counselor. Now I get to learn so much from clients as well as helping other follow their passions.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

The duration and frequency of therapy depends on the nature of the mental health concern. Many clients need to work out a few specific concerns and may complete treatment in few sessions, while others have many concerns and may need long term therapy. Some client prefer to come weekly while others need to space out the appointments. Together we will set the plan and frequency level based on your comfortability.

Premarital Counseling is usually between 6-10 sessions.
