What's My Approach to Therapy?

My work is grounded in cognitive and skills-based therapy, including CBT, ACT, DBT, REBT, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. I also use trauma-focused and strength-based approaches. In couples work, including pre-marital and marital counseling, I use the Gottman Method to support communication, trust, and repair. Therapy is not about judgment or quick fixes. It is a place to slow down, feel heard, and make sense of what you are experiencing. I aim to offer a calm, respectful space where you can talk openly, build practical tools, and move forward at a pace that feels manageable. When you feel ready, therapy can be a meaningful place to begin creating change.

My Practice & Services

I work Tuesday through Saturday, 7 AM - 7 PM. Saturday hours are from 7-5 PM. I am offering in-person or virtual through a secure HIPAA-compliant site. Finding the right counselor where every individual feels heard is important. I believe in creating a safe and collaborative therapeutic experience. I earned a Doctorate in Professional Counseling from Kairos University in 2025. The additional training strengthened existing skills and allowed me to add new trainings in strength based couples counseling, somatic processing, and trauma-informed skills. I do offer a free 20-minute phone consultation. Courage, trust, and strength are the pillars we all possess but rarely see in ourselves. It takes courage to embrace hopes and fears. Trust to explore hidden passions and find forgotten dreams. Strength to rise above difficult life challenges. Let’s get started. Call, email, or text today!

How Psychotherapy Can Help

When you are spinning around and around and don't know how to get off the merry-go-round a trained therapist can help. Its hard to ask a family member or friends to listen empathetically and non-judgmentally to your concerns. These thoughts can continue to spiral when there is no one you can talk with who will understand. Psychotherapy provides an opportunity to discuss any and all concerns free of worry and learn new tools to combat the irrational thoughts causing the spinning.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

The ability to help others find and fulfill their dreams. I became interested in human behavior after taking several psychology courses my senior year of high school. I went into the business world and spent 23 years in corporate America. I watched couples struggling balancing careers, family, and relationships. I experienced first hand the hardships of being downsized, twice in one year, due to a poor economy. In 2013, I decided to follow my passion and become a professional counselor. Now I get to learn so much from clients as well as helping other follow their passions.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

The duration and frequency of therapy depends on the nature of the mental health concern. Many clients need to work out a few specific concerns and may complete treatment in few sessions, while others have many concerns and may need long term therapy. Some client prefer to come weekly while others need to space out the appointments. Together we will set the plan and frequency level based on your comfortability. Premarital Counseling is usually between 6-10 sessions.
