My Approach to Helping
I look at the therapeutic process as a collaborative relationship. I meet clients halfway if they are willing to meet me halfway. I treat clients as people and not their disorders, and I strive to provide a safe, comfortable place for them to open up.
I earned an MSW from the University of St. Francis and have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and post-traumatic stress (PTSD). I currently treat clients age 9 and up.
In therapy, I use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing to help support the client through the recovery process. I also provide homework to help clients continue to progress outside of sessions. In every situation, I am compassionate, supportive, and want clients to get the help they need.
