My Approach to Therapy

Are you curious to see what it feels like to make positive changes in your life? Are you ready to quiet the anxious chatter that gets in the way of living your life to its potential? Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where our problems and emotions can feel too overwhelming; we feel lost as how to move forward. Finding the right therapist to help you with this journey is crucial. As a therapist, I offer support while working with you on mutually agreed upon goals. I believe a healthy therapeutic relationship can allow one to succeed. Providing trust and understanding are key elements in helping one achieve change. Change is not easy. It takes courage and the ability to be an active participant in your life. It is also imperative that I understand how you view your world. My ability to be in tune with your needs ultimately leads to a relationship grounded in respect. With support and trust, you are more likely to take steps toward a more empowered and fulfilling life.

My Practice & Services

My office is conveniently located on Villa Avenue, near Route 83 between Roosevelt and St. Charles Roads in Villa Park; near Elmhurst, Lombard, and Oak Brook. I accept Blue Cross and Blue Shield PPO, Aetna and United Healthcare. I also accept some out of network insurance policies.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

As a therapist with nearly 30 years of experience, I believe providing a safe environment to explore feelings and beliefs is key to addressing where we feel stuck. It's important to know that we are not alone and that others have felt what we have felt. It is very liberating to be heard, understood, and supported. My scope of practice includes a variety of issues, however I specialize in complex trauma and anxiety disorders (generalized, panic, agoraphobia). I'm also versed in the mind-body connection. I strongly believe in the connection of neuroscience and somatic healing for maximum results.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

I truly believe in the therapeutic process. Psychotherapy can help you bring about positive changes in your life. Change is hard work. When you have the support, encouragement, and honesty of your therapist it can become doable. Becoming aware of repeated thought or behavior patterns is the first step. The next step requires courage to change those automatic responses. This is much easier said than done. This is where I will provide the support and expertise you?ll need to take those steps. You are not alone.
