My Approach to Helping
Whether you are going through a challenging life event or dealing with long standing issues, do not lose hope. Change is always a possibility and the human spirit is incredibly resilient. I have a passion for guiding people to a healthier state. Through therapy, better communication, a calmer disposition, and a deeper understanding of oneself you can replace conflict, anxiety, depression, and confusion. These changes will often free up a great deal of mental, emotional, and physical energy. The combination of skill building and confidence building can start the process of change. Sometimes, it is also useful to look at one's past to gain an understanding of what patterns in thought or behavior we may have developed over the years. You will gain more insight and hence, more power over your life. All of us have both strengths and weaknesses. In working with many people over the years, I have observed that the more we live in our strengths and minimize our weaknesses, the happier we tend to be. My approach to my work is compassionate and collaborative. Together we can work to help you achieve the goals that are important to you.
I have worked in the field for 20 years as a licensed professional. Continuing education and professional peer groups have always been an important part of my professional growth beyond graduate school.
