My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in South Minneapolis, with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I provide counseling services to older adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are experiencing challenges such as divorce, the death of a loved one, attachment issues, grief and loss, developmental trauma, emotional trauma, relationship issues, and other major life transitions. I offer insightful, supportive, and compassionate care to help men, women, and youths harness their inner strengths, overcome personal hardships, heal, and grow.
I received clinical training at the Holy Names University in Oakland, California, as well as the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to relationship and marriage therapy, I offer treatment approaches such as art therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), hypnotherapy, brainspotting, and body-centered therapies such as psychomotor therapy, somatic transformation, and the Hakomi Method. I also have extensive personal and professional experience in dream work, Jungian analysis, and shamanic work.
My counseling style is warm, person-centered, and direct. As a result, I work very well with individuals who may be highly sensitive. I also offer women workshops, private real-time coaching for couples, and intensive 4-hour couples workshops with the assistance of my husband. My private practice is located in South Minneapolis, however I also offer mental health services in Plymouth on occasion.
