My Approach to Helping

My approach to helping you begins with connection. I believe this is foundational to any work we do together. I want to create an environment that feels safe and comfortable for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I am relational, collaborative, and creative with you. I will also add a bit of humor to our meetings when appropriate!

My name is Maggie Graham, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I have been working in clinical practice for over 7 years, and specialize in working with adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, difficult life transitions, relationship issues, and ADHD. I have a holistic and integrative approach to therapeutic interventions. Modalities that most I commonly incorporate into sessions are mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and somatic awareness.

I offer sessions in-person and virtually, and offer outdoorwalking sessions as requested. I believe strongly in the healing power of nature and the outdoors, as well as movement. If you are interested in sessions involving these components, please let me know and we will discuss options.

In essence, I am passionate about helping people discover their truths, their purpose, and their inherent strengths. I help you go deeper, learn more about yourself, and live by what matters to you in this life!

This profession actually “chose” me, after working in animal care early on, and then later in ecology and community-based conservation, where I realized that my greatest interest and strengths were in helping others feel understood and drawing connections to how they fit and interact in their “system”. Even more personally, I have found hope and change in the support I have received for my journey with anxiety, and being diagnosed with ADHD.

I believe that you are uniquely amazing and can work through your greatest struggles, create changes you want to see and manage the facets of your life that may be out of your control successfully. Reach out to set up an appointment and see if we may be a good fit!
