My Approach to Helping
My educational and professional training allows me to see psychological distress from a social constructivism perspective. There is no objective reality, and its creation is based on our experiences, knowledge, and social-cultural background. With this in mind, I have been able to provide services to different populations of diverse cultural backgrounds and distress. Currently, I see adult clients of diverse backgrounds in psychological distress. My therapeutic approach invites clients to feel welcomed, unjudged, and as if they are having a conversation with a close friend. I aim to address issues from an empathetic approach that allows agenda flexibility and comprehension partaking from the clients\' socio-cultural background and presenting issues.
I aim to assist clients with improving self-awareness of sources of distress, thinking patterns and emotions that reinforce distress, and guide them through change and psychological growth.
