My Approach to Helping
I am passionate about psychotherapycounseling and bring over thirty years of experience in providing clinical services and psychotherapycounseling to people with varied emotional and psychological issues. A professional Psychotherapist and Social worker, I am a registered member of the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario as well as the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
I am specifically interested in the socio-political dimension of psychotherapy —the effect of racism, oppression, and discrimination on self-esteem and identity formation. My approach to therapy is client-centered, strength-based, feminist, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed. I always try to create a warm, inviting, and collaborative space, where I view my client as the expert of their own lives and my role as that of an explorative helper on their journey to explore their inner worth.
