My Approach to Helping

Right now, you probably feel misunderstood. You think that your feelings are unnatural, or that someone will judge you when you say you are seeing a therapist. I completely understand. Mental health is not just a struggle within, but a struggle with those around you. When you are working with me, however, there is no judgment. Instead, I’m here to offer you a safe, compassionate space where we can work together to overcome your struggles.

Whether it is anxiety, depression, or something more severe, I tailor my approach to your needs and we will explore various techniques to find what works best for you to accelerate the healing process. You know you best, but I make it my job to get to know you just as well so that we can work together effectively. I am your partner in the healing process, and I’m here not just for the issues you face today, but those in the future too.

My approach is all about you.

More Info About My Practice

I come from a community where my parents and grandparents were also raised. It was not until college when I finally left my community, and while nervous, this was a great thing for my personal growth. The experiences in those 6 years away were amazing. While moving back home was an adjustment, I found a way to help combine my old self with my new self to fit into a community that was my home for more than half my life. I found a balance of what worked and didn’t work, and it was a personal experience taking a lot of flexibility, resilience, and patience – all worth it in the end.

Our upbringing shape how we view ourselves, others, and the world. Sometimes, it isn't all pleasant. Other times, it may feel like it was the best time of our life. I believe both can be true, and the power of duality is freeing. Understanding and accepting the past, then paying attention and tending to the wounds can help us to overcome our struggles and do better for ourselves and future generations.
