My Approach to Helping

I am a goal-oriented therapist who can help you identify and address harmful emotional, thought and behavioral patterns and eliminate the negative self-talk that may be keeping you stuck. I will offer you consistent, compassionate support as you make new discoveries about yourself and begin to connect and better understand your experiences. I will individually tailor each session to your particular needs and utilize cutting-edge, proven modalities, such as Rapid Resolution Therapy, which can help you feel more uplifted and confident after just few sessions. Regardless of what you are struggling with today, you can discover joy and feel empowered to create a purposeful, balanced life.

More Info About My Practice

I specialize in helping people find healing from the traumatic events in their lives, especially those buried traumas that continue to impact the way individuals experience their worlds. If you are struggling with anxious thoughts, panic attacks, sadness, resentment, shame, self-doubt, compulsive behaviors (especially eating disorder behaviors), relationship issues or other issue that are causing you pain and distress, I can help.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Each individual experiences symptoms of emotional distress in different ways, and I firmly believe we all need comfort, support and guidance when we are trying to figure out why we feel the way we do, or what we need to do next. And, sometimes, we need more help than our friends and family members can provide, and can benefit from a gentle, professional, experienced approach. My philosophy is to specifically address core issues so that you can stop feeling stuck and start feeling ready to tap into your core strengths and create the life you want. It?s so important that you know you are not alone in your experience. You are coping with challenges in the best way you can, and while some of those patterns may no longer be useful for you, there is hope for change. To me, the purpose of therapy is to provide a system of continued support through ongoing coaching in a trusting and comfortable environment. Working with a therapist can help you develop the tools you need to feel more resilient and equipped to navigate challenges ? such as a move, a job change, a change in relationship, the loss of a loved one? as they arise. We can face whatever challenges you are experiencing together. You can find a path toward healing and relief.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Gaining more clarity in your own life promotes relationships, ambition, feelings of possibility and overall mental, physical and emotional well-being. Therapy is an investment in yourself, your career and your connection to those around you. When you experience symptoms of illness or a broken bone, you probably see a Doctor without hesitation. But when something impacts you emotionally, you may hesitate because you think it's something you should be able to handle all alone. But, just as a doctor has specialized medical training to help you with issues related to physical well-being, as a therapist I have years of experience and specialized training to help you achieve your optimum emotional well-being. You owe it to yourself and the people you love to completely take care of yourself.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

The duration and frequency of therapy is very unique to each individual. Most people researching therapists for the first time have the impression that it is necessary to see a therapist several times a month for extended periods of time. This is not always true. In my practice, I pinpoint specific issues in each session so you can feel better before you leave. Rapid Resolution Therapy can help you get to the core of issues quickly and effectively so that you can find new clarity quickly, without feeling as though you are dwelling in the past. I provide ongoing support as new circumstances arise, for example if you face a challenging life event.

While I tailor my work to each individual client, most people see me once a week. I will provide clinical, therapeutic tools so you can begin moving forward quickly, with a new sense of lightness and ease.
