My Approach to Helping

PHONE AND INTERNET SESSIONS AVAILABLE. I am considered a "straight-shooter", but with true compassion and a healthy dose of good humor (I have had years of good and not-so-good therapy myself).

I work with COUPLES -- traditional, open and poly, due to the temptations of the internet and 'getting busted'. -- and INDIVIDUALS who experience themselves as being "outside" of the "system", and have difficulty maintaining their designated roles in sick families. Who feel empty and purposeless, who are artists, "freaks".

I have a good number of years successfully working with people overcome difficulties precipitated by poor parenting in the world that catapults us into self-blame, shame and so-on due to our frequent bouts of social media-induced misbehavior and resulting sorrowfulness.

Having been fortunate to have found several therapists whose practice has been both helpful and inexpensive, whom I base the ethics of working with people in their quest for meaning, work, comfort, peace, and love. As I just mentioned -- it is not always just you but you in the situation you live in and around and how that is affecting your life and your feelings about yourself in yourself and in the world that has contributed to your wanting help.

Having lived in Aisa, practiced non-western therapies, as well as a contemporary "energy-field" work, I have increasingly removed myself from 'cookie-cutter' treatments.

More Info About My Practice

Over 20 years in the field, starting with impulse control (drugs and so on) with individuals and groups, currently working privately with late adolescent, young adult individuals and couples--noteably couples in real trouble.

I support active and recovering addicts, artists and people who find themselves in difficult transitional states. I do love people interested in enhancing their personal and spiritual existence during this very difficult period of our history. I am more interested in you and you in your situation than in pathologizing you with a diagnosis.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

My goal is restoration of the real relationship with the lost self of the individual and couple, I am interpersonal in my working style and offer honest and objective feedback. In addidtion, the relatioship you have with the person you are seeking help from (me) has the potentional to be the primary healing agent. I have years of practicing "non-traditional" and successful approaches -having lived in "the East", I do have not 'scrub out' the need to augment the value of the life of the spirit in all of the people I am honered to help.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Time spent with clients is between 1 to 1&12 hour per session.
Fees are adjustable to the financial situation of the people I see.

Some insurance is accepted. Please call to check insurance and fee.

No one is turned away due to lack of finances.

the best way to contact me is by calling, leave message, I'll call back from a cell phone ASAP. I do not check email often.
