I would like to help you heal by teaching you coping skills, exploring helpful solutions, and offering genuine care. It can be scary to make changes, but we can do it together. Acknowledging trauma and the role of painful experiences, expressing your feelings about the past, and processing your memories can help you understand how you got to where you are. I use a strength-based perspective, and believe my clients can find solutions to their challenges. An objective outside view can help you find those solutions.

I have more than 14 years of post-graduate experience working with couples, families, and children. I enjoy working with teenage girls who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, as well as teens with depression and anxiety, adults with relationship challenges, and young children who need help with focus, attention, or other behavioral problems.

I help families heal from trauma, whether the trauma is due to divorce or other difficulties. I have extensive attachment and trauma therapy training, as well as experience working in day treatment, school social work, in-home settings, case management, and outpatient treatment.

More Info About My Practice

My office is a satellite office consisting of two offices only. There is not high client traffic and it is cozy and comfortable.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

With therapy, it is important to find the right client/therapist fit. You may have had an experience (or more) with therapy that left you feeling as though you were not heard and perhaps were not met with genuineness or empathy to the level you expected. Counseling means "to come alongside" and one should be "met where they are". I strive to do this in my practice and to be open and genuine.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Most people who go into professional roles of therapist and other "helping professions" have a background that consists of their own struggles and sometimes even trauma. Your therapist also being a "person" who has had these issues helps them to engage with you on an intimate level and helps them to have greater empathy for your situation and feelings. My personal experiences have shaped who I am as a person and as a therapist.
