My Approach to Helping
DeVon Byrd is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia with over 16 years of experience in the mental health field working with adults and providing compassionate care for a variety of psychological issues. He is a strong proponent of developing therapeutic relationships to facilitate change. Depression, anxiety, trauma, and psychosis are areas of experience. He received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from William Carey University and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from William Carey University. DeVon utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach for brief, problem-focused therapy to address emotional issues and conflicts with a strong emphasis on encouraging change. He is a very open-minded, non-judgmental therapist who works well with a wide range of individuals. DeVon seeks to establish a warm and caring relationship with you in order to assist you in building on your strengths and developing better or new coping strategies to meet your goals and improve your overall well-being.
