My Approach to Helping
My name is Maythal Eshaghian, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I specialize in the treatment of OCD, anxiety, depression, and other related anxiety disorders, including body-focused repetitive behaviors such as Trichotillomania and Skin-Picking Disorder, in children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, I have a strong focus on trauma therapy, helping individuals overcome the impact of traumatic experiences.
My therapy approach integrates various evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (CT). Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is structured and goal-oriented, and it is considered the gold standard treatment for OCD.
Living with anxiety, depression, or trauma can be distressing and debilitating, making it a significant challenge to regain control over your life. However, the right type of treatment can be the key to managing your symptoms and taking that essential step towards reclaiming your life. Recovery is not only possible but achievable with the appropriate therapeutic intervention.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
One of the most fulfilling aspects of being a psychotherapist is witnessing the profound transformation that individuals undergo as they embark on their journey of self-discovery and personal growth. What I truly love is being part of their process, guiding them as they navigate through challenges and emerge stronger, more self-aware, and empowered. It's incredibly rewarding to see clients making positive changes in their lives, gaining insight, and building resilience. Knowing that I've played a role in helping others experience this positive transformation is a source of deep satisfaction and inspiration in my work as a psychotherapist.
