My Approach to Helping
I believe that one of the most important aspects of the process of change is rooted in the working relationship between the psychotherapist and the client. There are many different methods I may use to help my clients overcome the problems they wish to address. My approach is relaxed, down to earth, honest and direct. I value authenticity in my therapeutic relationships and I have an appreciation for spirituality.
I aim to create an environment where my clients feel entirely comfortable with me as they explore their current struggles. I work from a contemplative, meaning centered perspective, as I believe that by becoming the loving observer of our thoughts and patterns of behavior we become less reactive to them, however, it can be beneficial to include insight into the ways in which our past has impacted our present lives.
Additionally, I utilize Psychodynamic Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral approaches. I work with clients to cultivate awareness, compassion and acceptance. I hope that my clients will find their experience with me helpful and meaningful. I understand that a decision to seek professional counsel for problems in living is always a difficult and important one – one that is never made lightly. I will strive to be my best as I aid in the search for solutions to each clients concerns.
