My Approach to Helping

My approach to helping people comes with the understanding that we all deserve to experience joy in our days. So many of us have found this basic joy to be interrupted either by trauma, depression, anxiety andor unfortunate life events. My goal is to help my clients find the joy in every day life through fulfilling relationships, powerful work experiences and simply a strong self-esteem that enhances daily life. In all of my work I attempt to inject warmth and humor to empower my clients to reach their full potential.

*The first appointment is 60 minutes for a fee of $165
*Subsequent sessions are 50 minutes for a fee of $150

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Being "on the fence" about starting therapy can be a confusing time. If you have gotten yourself "ON the fence" you recognize that you are struggling with something. Thus, being ON that fence and not crossing over can probably cause further discomfort; you may want to take the leap, but are aware of scary discoveries that may be waiting on that therapy couch.
I understand the hesitation; positive results can be on the horizon, but:
"How do I know that I can trust this therapist?"
"Is it worth the money?"
"What if it is emotionally painful?"
My recommendations to get off the fence and on to the couch are to remember that at first it is a try-out, like try-outs for a sports team. I suggest you view the try-out as an interview of the therapist. Spend a few sessions getting to know the therapist and letting the therapist get to know you. It is important to both of you that this is a good fit. Do you feel that your personalities mesh, share a similar sense of humor, feel that you are being heard and that your needs are being met?
You are in control. If it doesn't feel right with this therapist, don???t give up on yourself. There is someone out there for you that can provide the support and healing that you so desire. You are worth the time and money required to get to that other side. The path can be rocky at times, but I assure you, the journey is worth it.
