My Approach to Helping
"Let me be safe, let me be healthy, let me be happy." -David Servan-Schreiber, M.D., Ph.D.
We are all impacted by the stresses and hardships that life brings to us. My hope is that our time together will not be another overwhelming role for you to fulfill. I seek to offer a genuine experience where you and I partner to decide what may be best fitting and comfortable for you. I like to incorporate flexibility in my therapeutic approach as so often things can begin to look different moving forward and reevaluating your successes becomes necessary. Our time together is solely devoted to you. The relationship we create is one where my intention is to offer you the space to feel safe in gathering your thoughts, feelings, and emotions, free of judgment to enhance clarity, exploration, and self-awareness of one's self.
More Info About My Practice
I have learned I am a passionate advocate for encouraging self-compassion. So often when we are compassionate to others, we feel empathic and have a desire to help them even in some small way. Compassion allows us to see that others may also have suffering, failure, and imperfection which is part of our shared human experience. Turn the compassion inwards and we find how to be kind to ourselves despite our own suffering, flaws, and insecurities. I believe in harnessing what you discover about your own self-compassion and utilizing that as a tool to support you in your healing journey.
I am a graduate of The College of Saint Elizabeth in New Jersey and hold a Master of Counseling Psychology. I have worked closely with the geriatric population, end of life, and in grief and bereavement, including working alongside families and children. When I am not in my counselor role, you can find me walking my two beagles, traveling, learning yoga, and rooting for Rutgers Football.
