My Approach to Helping
I desire to help people find hope, healing, and joy. I recognize that coming to counseling can sometimes be uncomfortable and intimidating, so I work to provide a safe place in a comfortable atmosphere where children, teens, individuals, couples, and families can be themselves. I work to be real as I come alongside to support and encourage people in whatever circumstance they are walking through. I have a passion for working with children, teenagers, and woman struggling with depression and mood disorders. I also love working with couples and families. I welcome the opportunity to meet you!
More Info About My Practice
I am the director and supervisor of interns at Living Water Counseling. I have been working as a therapist for over 15 years and have valuable experience and training. I work on a sliding scale so that fees do not hinder people from coming to counseling and I am an out-of-network provider for insurance companies.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have worked with children and adolescents for over 20 years as a therapist, school counselor, and a youth pastor. My passion stills lies with teenagers. I not only work with them, but I live with them as I am also a mom of 3 children! I desire to help be a bridge between parents and their children. I also have a heart for women struggling with depression. Much of my continuing education has been in the areas of anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. I also receive many referrals for couples and family counseling.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
I believe that counseling can benefit everyone. We all need a safe place "to dump" our frustrations, fears, and feelings and learn new ways of coping with the issues we face. I work from a brief therapy viewpoint so that my clients realize they don't have to make therapy a long-term process. I consider it a privilege to join the journey my clients are on as I guide them and encourage them to find life at its best!
