My Approach to Helping
My specialty is relationships and I will work together with you to create a happier, healthier bond with your partner and with yourself. During stressful times, it is common to form repetitive patterns that can feel disconnecting from the one you love. Also inside ourselves, there can be negative cycles of self-criticism, anxiety, or old patterns that can hang on no matter how hard we try.
Whether it's as a couple or individual, the idea is to slow down enough in the safe context of therapy so that you can understand the more vulnerable emotions that tend to stay hidden underneath the zero-to-sixty reactive mode that can rear up in our thoughts and communication.
Attachment focused couples work is about taking risks in present moment communication with your partner. This is achieved by slowly becoming more vulnerable while dropping the hatchet or coming out of the cave. This creates relationships that are much more connected and emotionally safe. And individuals who are happier because they are getting the love and secure bonding that they long for.
