My Approach to Helping

I feel the greatest privilege to sit with you and help. Often I can bring you immediate relief from shame, anxiety, or depression simply because you've been too alone with your feelings: now they can be shared. Then we can start together to resolve the painful cycles you feel stuck in. With relief comes hope and confidence. Everyone has a well of healing within them, awaiting skillful help and kindly empathy to open. When you feel safe, loneliness is lessened. As trust in your own healing grows, the inside of you, perhaps once feared, begins to become a nourishing resource. You are coming home to yourself.

More Info About My Practice

My own journey enables me to offer support to others. I know what it's like to gradually trust someone who I feel safe with so I can feel and see deeper within myself. I've experienced how there's a gradual opening, in this feeling of safety, to what I previously feared about myself. How this naturally becomes a kind curiosity toward the hurts life has delivered me, and eventually opens into welcoming everything that I am. And where I've walked on this path, I can sincerely help you walk.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Simply put: shame reduction. We feel unbearably alone -- often because of shame -- when we feel our insides don't match other people's outsides. When we share our inside experience, and the therapist shows us genuine empathy and kindness, we realize we can make friends with ourselves, and we feel relieved and encouraged. We are not alone, after all.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

On the contrary: risking the vulnerability of therapy takes great strength. This power comes from your essence, which is the well of wholeness and healing at your core. As we are honest with ourselves in the kindly empathy of therapy, wounds and seeming flaws turn out to be this deepest self, calling you home.
