I believe that it takes tremendous courage and strength for you to acknowledge your personal struggles, pain, and vulnerabilities. It takes even greater resolve for you to seek out guidance from another to help you navigate such life obstacles and to initiate the process of change. Thus, out of great respect and compassion for you, I strive to create a safe environment that fosters such self-exploration.

My goal is to meet you where you are at in your life--to help guide you through life's shadows and to stand beside you as you overcome your greatest fears. My focus is on helping you to realize your intrinsic strengths, on skill building, and on changing self-defeating behaviors. My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Change can be a slow and difficult process. It can be frightening to open yourself up to the hurt, disappointment, and angst carried inside for years. Counseling creates a safe holding environment that allows you to expose past wounds, explore your inner most thoughts and feelings, and to do so in an atmosphere free of criticism or judgment. My integrative approach tends to be solution focused, incorporates elements of cognitive behavioral and humanistic therapy, and encourages the practice of acceptance and mindfulness.

My Therapy Focus

I adopt a holistic a approach that addresses you as a complete whole: your personal concerns, hopes, strengths, and goals. I do not subscribe to a single therapy model, as there is no single formula for growth. Thus, I tailor my approach to our work to fit your unique needs.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Life 'noise' frequently deafens you to your internal voice and may derail you from your desired path. This may leave you feeling disoriented, isolated, and despaired. I trust in your innate drive for personal growth, emotional balance, and inter-connectedness. Counseling is an educative process: It can help to foster self-awareness, insight, resource development, and aid your overall healing process. It plays an integral role in the journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
