My Approach to Helping
My approach to helping people is holistic. I like to get to know a client who they are as a person first and foremost. I understand that everyone faces obstacles, heartbreak, and adversity in life; when that all becomes too much to handle, I am here to support you and help you find the right tools to cope with life's challenges. I approach clients with empathy, an open mind, and an open heart. I want you to feel welcomed and comfortable when you enter my office.
I see people from all backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, religious beliefs, and gender identities. I am allied with the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ community.
What I Usually Need to Know to Help
I need to know what your desired outcome and goals are for therapy so I can best help you in meeting those goals.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I have experienced my own adversity throughout my childhood, adolescence and adulthood. I have experienced grief, childhood trauma, loss, abuse and abandonment. These personal struggles have made me a better therapist. I am able to empathize and connect with people going through their adversity after experiencing my own hardships in life.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
The client-therapist relationship is the most important aspect of the entire therapeutic relationship. Without a connection, it is hard to make progress. With a connection, you will make progress in therapy.
