My Approach to Helping
"Maybe you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be." I believe each person has a strength within themselves to make the change they wish to see. Often some help is needed to identify that strength. Each person brings their individual life experience to where they are today. You need to understand where you've been before you can move forward to where you want to go. Together we will focus on that strength and life experience to help you move forward.
More Info About My Practice
I conduct most of the therapy sessions with clients in the traditional setting, my office. It's a nice, cozy office, but is an office none the less. Another way to meet is through Walk and Talk therapy. This is where I meet with a client in a local park and we walk while conducting the therapy session. Getting outdoors really changes the dynamic of the session. Clients are more relaxed as being outdoors is familiar, rather than being in a therapy office. But if being outdoors is not for you, don't worry. I still meet with clients in my nice cozy office.
My Role as a Therapist
Often a person is hesitant to seek therapy because they see this as admitting a weakness. In fact, it is being strong and should be seen as a strength. It takes courage to see within yourself that you need help, that there is an area that needs change. It takes even more courage to actually ask someone for that help. I want to work with you to identify what you want to change and support you with that change. Together. For Change.
