My Approach to Helping
Trauma can fracture who you are as a person. It can make you feel unlike yourself, distant from others, changed forever. Perhaps that looks like flashbacks, feeling like you're trapped in the past, hopeless, anxiety, low self-esteem. I can help you cope and heal from the impacts of sexual and relationship trauma.
Generally, providing some tools to manage your symptoms is a good start, in addition to sharing some knowledge about the dynamics of trauma on the brain and body. Then, if appropriate, we can go deeper into the ways the trauma has impacted you and figure out together how to put the pieces back together. We will build resilience, access your strengths, and free you from your past. Learning to understand your trauma, manage symptoms, change unhealthy relationship patterns, and increase self-esteem can help you cultivate the life and meaningful relationships that you want.
