My Approach to Helping
I offer depth psychotherapy (psychodynamic and analytical [Jungian] psychology) which is an endeavor that brings about emotional healing and helps you to live life more fully. Sometimes we may be unable to snap out of a mood or find ourselves repeating the same ineffectual patterns over and over again in spite of our best efforts to feel better, to change, or to cope. In depth psychotherapy we look at the influence of patterns, emotions and thoughts that we are not aware of on our lives. We pay attention to thoughts, feelings, memories, images and dreams as a way to shed light on current difficulties and to bring about healing and wholeness. Depending on the needs of the person I am working with and on what suits the individual, I may also use a more structured approach to address problems and emotional difficulties.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
• people with a scientific or technical background who are experiencing stress or feel stuck in their life and want to change
• individuals who come from a strong religious or spiritual background, who are seeking to live life more fully and want a place where their beliefs are respected
• individuals and families with an international background or who are struggling with the challenges of being in two or more cultures
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to provide a safe, contained space where you can experience, process and explore your feelings, thoughts and reactions. Together we explore what goes on inside you, sometimes without your awareness, and how it affects you. You talk about what comes to mind. I offer my thoughts and comments. I point out connections and patterns that I notice, and offer them to you for your consideration. My role is not that of an expert telling you what to do with your life, but more of a non-judgmental, compassionate guide with expertise.
