My Approach to Helping

My approach is strength-based and collaborative. I often use the attachment theory modality as a framework with my clients. I work with clients to develop a set of tools based on what has worked in the past and what is currently effective as a starting point. From there, I help my clients to develop short- and long-term goals to best achieve the outcome they are looking for. The attachment modality is not only effective when navigating personal and professional relationships, but also in how clients see themselves. By bringing the focus to their attachment styles, clients are able to gain insight into relationship and behavior patterns. I believe that every person has a unique set of strengths and we will work together to overcome your challenges and obstacles.
In my sessions, Art Therapy is always an option for you. Art Therapy can be utilized in two ways. The first is to allow for the use of art materials to be calming and soothing. Clients often feel more comfortable speaking about difficult topics while simultaneously using art materials. The second is to collaboratively analyze what you've created towards the end of session, often through metaphor and symbolism. Our therapeutic relationship is essentially a blank slate as I will not have outside associations with your friends, family, or work colleagues. Your time in therapy is an opportunity to process experiences, thoughts, and feelings that you may not feel comfortable sharing with others.
