I have also taken extra training and professional development to assist couples . I have completed level 1 & 2 with Terry Real (Relational Life Therapy). II have attended many Esther Perel's trainings, which are groundbreaking in advancing couples counseling. I have also taken trainings through the Gottman Institute.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I want you to know that you're not alone in dealing wit difficult emotions. I went through my own struggles and I had to engage in personal therapy to get to know myself and to deal with past trauma in my childhood that had left me insecure and anxious. I truly believe that without therapy I would still be struggling and be stuck in the past. I still have moments that are rough, but I have the skills now to ride the wave of difficult emotions, which allows me to live a more balanced life. Therapy is not a panacea, it just offers a safe place to work through troubling emotions & behaviors.
