My Approach to Helping
If you're looking at this site, you're considering getting help with something happening in your life. Although talking to a therapist for a first time can feel unusual, I believe you will feel at ease with the process by the end of our first session. When you first come in, I want to know your goals. What change would make you feel better or better equipped? Together we will make a list of your treatment goals and talk about the methods we can use to get you there. We'll talk about what you can expect during therapy and how to tell if you're moving in the direction to achieving those goals. I believe you have it within you to accomplish what you want in life -- whether you know it consciously or not. I will help you realize your potential and find ways to incorporate your newly learned skills and tools into your daily behaviors. We can use a Cognitive Behavioral approach to help you incorporate more helpful thoughts in your daily life. We can also utilize hypnosis to tap into your unconscious abilities to draw on your strengths and help you develop new ones. Both of these methods help offer relief to the problems that bring you into therapy. I look forward to working with you!
