My Approach to Helping
Chen Luo is a registered social worker in Ontario. He graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with a master’s degree in social work and received distinguished academic scholarship. Before moving to Canada in 2022, Chen Luo worked in New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association in Hong Kong (the largest Hong Kong-based NGO specialised in mental health services). He provided counselling and case management services in a community setting and supported the psychological wellbeing of his clients and their carers.
Chen received his bachelor’s degree in Social Policy and Economics from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Before making his career shift into the field of mental health, he worked for a Hong Kong-based conglomerate as management trainee and was seconded to the largest airline in Hong Kong.
Chen has received training in the following approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Low-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy. He is currently a trainee teacher in the MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) teacher training program of Oxford Mindfulness Centre. Chen Luo speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
Chen would like to help clients in areas of anxiety, depression, stress management and personal growth.
