More Info About My Practice

Art therapy is the use of art media and the creative process within a therapeutic environment with a trained professional. No art skills are required. The art that is made can become another way to communicate without the use of words. The process of physically engaging with art materials and creating is calming. As a registered art therapist, I connect traditional counseling skills and art making if the client desires. Using art making within therapy has proven helpful for a variety of mental health disorders such as; PTSD, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. If the client is not interested in art, traditional counseling is offered.

My Role as a Therapist

It is my hope that I am able to offer support and guidance to you. I often use references and recommendations of sources that I think would be beneficial to your overall wellbeing. I am grateful that the clients I have worked with have let me into their lives during a time where they were most vulnerable. In order to make any progress, it is imperative that the client and therapist build a trusting relationship. I use an honest and straightforward approach and tend to focus on making small and achievable goals so the client is able to see results. I love what I do and truly enjoying meeting new people and hearing about the journey they are on and the stories they have to go with it.
