My Approach to Helping
Our work together is a collaborative process. Whether you are experiencing a life change, difficulties in your relationships, feeling trapped in familiar limiting patterns, or being visited by illness, you might be struggling to move forward. We will find our way out of these stuck places together. It’s your journey and I am here to support you.
In session, we may examine coping habits, witness parts of self, explore the mind-body connection, and uncover relationship patterns. We might work to set boundaries, shift dynamics, and let go of things that no longer serve you.
Your internal wisdom is our guide as we craft a treatment plan to reach your goals. The therapeutic relationship is a safe space to process your experience. My goal is for you to feel safely embodied and to create an authentic life.
I take a person-in-environment perspective, listening closely for how societal systems and historical forces shape lived experience. I am strengths-based, compassionate, trauma-informed, and direct.
As a Lyme literate therapist, I offer support to individuals affected by Lyme disease. A comprehensive support system is essential in managing this illness. As your therapist, I will help you process your diagnosis, identify mental health symptoms, develop coping skills, and find hope.

More Info About My Practice
My practice is entirely telehealth, meaning all of our sessions would occur through video conference via a HIPAA compliant platform.
My Guiding Ethical Principles
As a social worker, I abide by the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics. The core ethics are: service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
The most predictive factor of successful therapy is the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist. I encourage clients to interview three therapists before deciding on a final candidate. An initial consultation with me is the best way to judge the goodness of our fit. Good luck in your search!
My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'
I believe we are shaped by our environments. Our brains are neuroplastic, meaning they are always paying attention, learning, and adapting. We may have a genetic proclivity for certain behavior, but I believe the brain is largely adaptive to early life experiences. While these adaptations were once functional, they often cause problems in adulthood. With therapy we can leverage neuroplasticity to create healthier behavior and experiences.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
Therapy is most successful when the therapeutic relationship is maintained by consistent and regular sessions, with honest feedback from both sides. Frequency of counseling sessions will be determined by your presenting symptoms, your treatment goals, and agreed upon treatment plan. Sessions are generally scheduled once a week, and may be reduced in frequency as you progress in treatment.
