It's very important for me to understand where you've come from and the dynamics leading to your concerns today. In order to serve you well, I complete a thorough biopsychosocial assessment to better understand you, your story, and the nature of your concerns. Therapy is most effective when you feel heard, understood, and known, and I strive to achieve this early in the therapeutic process. In working together, we will come up with a treatment plan that will encourage and motivate change, not just in presenting concerns, but also in shaping the life you want for yourself and your loved ones.

More Info About My Practice
I provide services for clients of all ages, and accept numerous insurance plans. I also offer a sliding fee to clients who do not have, or do not wish to use their insurance. Currently, I am a provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Cigna (HMO and PPO), United Behavioral Health/United Healthcare, Aetna, PHCS, and Magellan (Pending). I am unable to accept Medicare/Medicaid at this time. If your insurance is not listed, I am happy to consider becoming an in-network provider for your plan. (Please note that this process can take anywhere from 1-6 months and is determined by the insurance carrier.) I have also successfully advocated for clients to obtain in-network levels of coverage to see me if they have an HMO or out-of-network plan.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I particularly enjoy working with children and their families, and am known for my ability to connect with clients who may be more reluctant to participate in therapy, including mandated clients. I have extensive training and expertise in the treatment of trauma, including those with dissociative disorders, and those clients interested in the use of EMDR (including children). I enjoy working with people on the autism spectrum, people who've experienced trauma or abuse, as well as foster care and adoption related concerns. I have specialized experience with LGBTQ clients at varying stages of coming out and/or transitioning. This is not an exhaustive list; I strive to ensure clients feel heard, understood, and respected regardless of the nature of their concerns.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
I believe the best use of psychotherapy is not only to resolve your presenting concerns, but to help facilitate your own inner knowing and healing so that you can create lasting change in your life. Psychotherapy can help you understand the patterns and dynamics that have led to your current concerns, allowing you to process your own concerns moving forward. The greatest gift I can provide clients is to feel empowered and strengthened to be their own best advocate and healer throughout their life.
