I am in the process of credentialing with numerous insurance panels. I will update this website as I become credentialed as a network provider with any insurance companies.

I can provide documentation for you to submit "out of network" coverage. If I am not a network provider with your insurance company you can check to see if your insurance will reimburse you for seeing an out of network provider. Many insurance companies offer this option. It is your responsibility to check on your out of network benefits.

I have a passion for working with all people. I am an open minded individual who will not judge you. I respect individuals for who they are and my hope is to assist you in identifying and reaching your life goals. It takes great courage to seek out help when you are struggling and I admire anyone who takes that step.

I have worked with diverse populations over the years and welcome anyone into my office regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexuality. I have a passion for working with women and the military community.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

It is completely understandable if you are uncertain about beginning therapy. Many people worry about the stigma of getting help while others believe that they do not need someone telling them how to live their lives. The fact is, we all need help at some time or another throughout life. It is too difficult to always manage on our own. I believe it is the strongest people who seek out the help, who are not afraid to admit that they cannot do it all alone. Nobody has all the answers and I will never claim that I can solve your problems for you. I will assist you in figuring out how to handle things in a way that YOU are comfortable with, that meets YOUR goal. If you are on the fence and have concerns then I strongly suggest that you give it at least one try to see what it is like. Many people find that after the initial session it does not seem as difficult to seek out the help. The most resistant people to therapy often find themselves talking more than they ever would have imagined.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

It is extremely important that you find a therapist who is a good fit for you. It is such a personal experience and you should not be sitting in a session feeling uncomfortable with who you are talking to. When people do not feel comfortable they tend to hold back information or they will often just quit going to therapy and give up on it completely. I suggest that you give it a couple tries to feel out your comfort level with a new therapist. Think about what is important to you. If you find yourself in a situation where you just do not click with your therapist it is perfectly acceptable to seek out a new therapist. You can speak with your therapist about this and he or she can work to help you find a therapist more suited to your needs. This is an extremely important key to finding success in therapy and it will be very important that you are proactive in finding the right fit for your needs.
