What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love to listen to people's stories and life experiences. It gives me joy to provide a safe space where people can open up and explore themselves. I love to show people a new approach to their problems; to teach mindfulness principles that allows people to become their own healer. It is so rewarding watching people change how they relate to themselves with more compassion and care. I love helping people clarify their values and take actions in their life toward things that are deeply important to them. It brings me so much joy to see someone living the meaningful life that they have always dreamed of living.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

As an adolescent, I struggled with anxiety throughout high school. I would get overwhelmingly nervous before meeting someone new, giving a performance, or presenting in front of the class. When I discovered the field of psychology, I found a way to understand my struggles and understand how anxiety works. In addition, I discovered Mindfulness practice which gave me further insight into my struggles and a method for healing myself and others. I credit my anxious, awkward, and painful teenage years for my discovery and passion for mindfulness-based psychotherapy.
