My Approach to Helping
Finding a therapist can be daunting, but a therapist who immediately puts your mind at ease can set the stage for a healthy therapeutic process. I bring to my clients over 20 years of experience as a board-certified nurse psychotherapist. I endeavor to make every new client feel safe and comfortable. Once a safe and supportive environment can be established, I use my experience and training to help my clients work toward change.
My goal is to help my clients achieve better self-awareness and deeper self-understanding. We'll work to help you understand how the past affects the present, and how you can make meaningful changes to work toward a better future. I am warm and interactive, and provide support in a judgment-free environment.
My training as a nurse means I can integrate many aspects of a client's well-being to understand how his or her social, physical, and family environments affect his or her well-being. This holistic approach never neglects the connection between mind and body.
I work with issues of stress management, as well as with those who have been diagnosed with serious medical conditions. People with physical challenges may need help integrating the complexities of their conditions into their daily lives. I'll work closely with your doctor to help you get the best treatment possible, advocate for your needs, reduce stress, understand the disease process, and regain control of your life.
