My Approach to Helping
I provide counseling and therapy to a variety of people experiencing problems in their lives. You would be a suitable client if you feel you are stuck in a relationship that is going nowhere. Or, maybe you have never had a relationship and wonder why you are missing out. Perhaps stress has risen to an unmanageable level in your life?

You might be suffering from bouts of insomnia, an insurmountable feeling of being overwhelmed, anxiety or panic attacks that leave you breathless and worn out? Perhaps you are caught in the grips of a depression that seems unrelenting. Maybe there is a constantly replaying tape in your mind of a past traumatic event that threatens to steal any chance of being happy. For any variety of reasons, your ability to focus, concentrate and find inner peace has been seriously jeopardized.

I also work with children, adolescents and adults or couples who are struggling with the symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Through counseling, you, your child, or your spouse can find out how to work with the symptoms of ADD or ADHD and build a wonderfully supportive and healthy relationship with others.

Often, solutions to these difficulties are simply buried under the weight of the problem. Through counseling, these problems can be resolved, offering you some lasting relief and access to new behaviors that will sustain good health. As a therapist and counselor, I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I offer a safe and nonjudgmental environment that instills confidence and willingness to address change that leads to health and well-being.

The first step to any solution is making that first phone call. Call me for a free fifteen-minute consultation to see if the services I offer might be useful to you. Our therapeutic relationship can help you to embark on a journey towards a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationship with others. By participating in counseling sessions, you will be guided towards health and satisfaction. You will feel a sense of accomplishment that will lead to a feeling of inner peace and tranquility. You can reach me at: 949-306-9565.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy is the journey of self-discovery. The more a person can understand their thoughts and behaviors, the more tolerant and accepting they become of themselves. Understanding a person's deepest thoughts and desires, and knowing how to get those needs met in an appropriate manner is the definition of good mental health. Psychotherapy facilitates flexible reactivity to life's demands.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

As a marriage and family therapist, relationships and relating to each other and the world are central to my definition of well-being. Because the work that is done in therapy can be difficult, forming an alliance that is collaborative, empathic, and validating is of utmost importance. Feeling safe enough so that the client can become vulnerable is the next step towards healing, wholeness and growth.
