I have been through multiple serious medical issues in my life. I have dealt with fees as they have come and still managed to achieve what I wanted to in life including my master\'s degree and my licensure as a professional mental health counselor. I have always faced problems head on and have always been solutions oriented and adaptable. I hope to help you do the same. I strive to be different from a typical therapist, yet still providing you quality therapy. I am mainly here to listen, validate your feelings and help you in any way that I possibly can.

I believe in meeting the client where they are. This means I work for you and at your pace. You guide to therapy, leave me where you want to go and I will follow. I do not force you to confront anything you are not ready to. I believe in being nonjudgmental. I have worked with all kinds of different populations and do not judge anyone. I meet you where you are. I believe in providing genuine, unique answers for your problems. I believe in Neuroscience. Neuroscience has proven that people can make changes to their behavior at any age, it is just a matter of thinking differently and becoming more used to thinking differently. Feel free to do some research on your own about neuroscience, I can also educate you further in one of our first sessions as it is the foundation of what I believe in. I believe in you using genuine communication. I want you to feel comfortable saying anything in therapy. If you curse a lot, feel free, I don't care. If that is the most comfortable way you feel speaking then go right ahead. I grew up in a big city where this type of language was common even from a young age. So, it doesn't bother me and if it makes you feel more comfortable then it makes me feel more comfortable with you. At the same time, if you are not comfortable with that it is fine.
What I don't believe in:
I do not believe in medication to fix your problems, even if you are dealing with anxiety and depression. I do not believe in reflections, reflections are when your therapist repeats what you just said back to you. I try to provide more than this, insightful unique responses to what you are saying. I will not just repeat what you are saying or ask you "How did that make you feel?"
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
My focus is on adults that are suffering from anxiety and depression. I offer client-focused, non-Rx based talk therapy. I'm here to listen and provide you with insightful help. I approach each issue independently. This means you are not getting canned advice and I try my hardest not to use cliches, psycho-babble, or buzz words. As you work with me, I hope you find that I truly want to help. I have dealt with all a lot and survived a lot in my life and about 10 years ago I decided to dedicate my life to helping people as someone who had been through many hardships including having a visual impairment, suffering a traumatic brain injury at age 25, so I know what is like to be through trauma. I also now have whole lot of clinical experience and knowledge as these experiences changed my life for the good and pointed me in the direction of helping people. So, I am not someone that works out of a book or tells you things that I learned in school. My goal is to provide solutions focused information for you. I am a problem solver, am great at figuring out work-arounds and a general adaptations especially when it comes to individuals with disabilities. For example, I can help people who are visually impaired become more efficient by using technology that is readily available. See above for just a few things to let you know a little bit about who I am, please read below as I try to express more thoroughly my beliefs about what therapy should be and what it should not be. I try to be different. Even if you have had a bad experience in the past, let me show you that the therapeutic experience can be different. Meeting you where you are means adapting to what you need.
