My Approach to Helping

Hello, and welcome to the first step of your healing journey. Whether you are looking to work on life transitions, reduce anxiety, improve your overall mood, learn how to set healthier boundaries in relationships, are currently facing addiction-related issues, or want to process your trauma, I would be honored to help you through whatever chapter of your life you are currently on. I aim to meet people where they are at, while also challenging them to achieve their goals, build on their strengths, and gain insight into their current presenting problems through a warm, interactive, and supportive environment.

I work from an integrative approach to personalize the experience for each client, but I primarily work through a humanistic and trauma-informed lens. This allows me to utilize a nonjudgmental and empathetic stance. I specialize in working with trauma survivors, interpersonal relationship-based issues, anxiety issues, and substance misuse.

Although I am serious about my work, I invite humor and realness into my sessions when appropriate. I will not stare at you with a blank look on my face, or ask you "How does that make you feel?" over and over again. I believe that the connection and therapeutic relationship is an instrumental part of therapy.

So, if you are willing, I am waiting.

More Info About My Practice

I offer in-person individual therapy Mondays-Wednesdays, and virtual individual therapy Mondays-Fridays using a HIPAA compliant platform. My office building provides free parking, public restrooms, a waiting area outside of my suite, and is located right off of the 405 freeway. At this time, my office building does not have an elevator, so you must be able to walk up and down a flight of stairs to enter my suite. I apology in advance for any inconvenience that may bring.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

In my eyes, the therapeutic relationship is one of the key factors for change and one of the most important aspects of therapy. My recipe for building that relationship is a whole lot of trust and safety, a sprinkle of gentle challenging, a dash of humor, and some fancy psychotherapeutic interventions in between. Obviously, my recipe isn't for everyone, and if you notice you aren't getting what you need from me, let me know! This is your journey, and I ultimately want to make sure you get the treatment you deserve and am willing to change up my style as needed. My only goal for our sessions is to ultimately give you the space you may not get outside of the hour we spend together and to help you reach your own personal goals, dreams, and ambitions.

Groups I Work With

Through my years of training and experience, I have found that I enjoy working with trauma survivors, individuals experiencing anxiety-based symptoms, and those who are early in recovery. Additionally, I have a lot of passion for working with clients who want to build on their assertiveness skills, challenge their codependent behaviors, and work through interpersonal relationship issues to not only better their relationships but their sense of self as well. Lastly, I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and have had the privilege of working alongside individuals who want to either explore, process, or even celebrate their sexuality and gender identity.
