My Approach to Helping
My name is Tanya Menezes and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. I attended National University and hold a Master of Arts degree in counseling. I also attended Walden University and earned a Master of Philosophy in health psychology, and I am currently completing her PhD in Health Psychology.
Through my own personal experiences with family members and other people close to me, I discovered the difference therapy can make in recovery from mental health challenges, as well as the related physical health challenges. I also realized that quality therapy and a good connection with the client are what make the most effective difference. Providing clients with tools and helping them learn healthy coping strategies is what I have found to be especially helpful. I commonly use therapy modalities that help clients to structure their thoughts and behaviors in a positive and constructive way that will help them to face their current challenges, as well as those they may encounter in the future. I have found it works best to utilize this client-centered approach for successful results.
