More Info About My Practice
I specialize in working with individuals and couples. I approach the therapy process from a systems perspective and will invite you to consider the dynamics playing out between you and others. I have extensive training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), emotionally focused individual therapy (EFIT), internal family systems (IFS), as well as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I will use these modalities to help you better understand the connection between your past and present, to better develop coping tools to manage distress as it occurs, and to better put words to the experience you're having internally.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
I believe that change begins when you decide to look inwards, and to genuinely become more curious about how you arrived to have the tendencies and patterns you have. I also believe in first meeting the person and the stories you bring into the session room, and then second to get to working on the problems after. I believe strongly that the alliance and rapport established between therapist and client is what will help lead to greater healing and change.
