My Approach to Helping
Positive change, warmth and understanding are the essence of my practice. I provide a safe haven for you to explore, express and discover who you are, and to use your difficulties as a source of strength and healing. If you are feeling lonely, overwhelmed, stressed out, ashamed or afraid, I can help. Maybe you are grieving for someone or something you’ve lost, or never had, or maybe you have an ambiguous feeling that something just isn’t right, or is missing. I will help you find the strength and courage to continue despite devastations, outrages, and the heaviness of life. Together we will discover personal powers, resourcefulness and resilience that you may not know you have. I am committed to helping people see the beauty and strength they are made of that may not comport with cultural beliefs and norms.
Some of the issues I can help with include emotional numbing, social isolation, traumatic experiences, excessive fear, excessive internet use including shopping and porn, work related stress, relationship issues, guilt, shame, boundary issues, self esteem, disproportionate anger, and binging behaviors of all kinds, including food, media, and sex. I welcome your quirks and invite you to be who you are, where you are.
I have a warm, genuine approach, inviting open-hearted listening and self-compassion. By understanding past influences, present patterns and inner beliefs, growth can occur. This awareness offers opportunities to make better choices, and to live a life more satisfying, with greater intention, creativity, confidence and joy.
As George Eliot said, “It’s never too late to be who you were meant to be”.
